Nutrientor
A cooking app for vegans and vegetarians that keeps track of the kitchen and what you eat, and fits recipes to your nutrient goals.
Nutrientor for Android is in testing.
The problems it answers
- A plant-based diet can run short of vitamin B-12, vitamin D, iodine, EPA and DHA, calcium, iron, zinc or choline, and meals alone don't show it. Nutrientor matches every food to USDA data and fits each recipe's amounts to your daily nutrient goals, counting what a maker added to a food apart from what it holds naturally.
- Food gets forgotten in the fridge. The Kitchen keeps each food with its days left; recipes use first what goes off soonest.
- Shopping is guesswork. Restock builds a buy list from what you've eaten lately and what the kitchen already holds.
- Cooking several meals at once is a puzzle. Batch cooking plans one session for several meals, in a cook's order.
- Labels are hard to read in a shop. Scan a barcode to see whether a product fits your diet and avoids, what was added and what is the food's own, and what official bodies have said about its additives, with sources.
How it works
Say what you'd like to eat. An AI writes the recipe; the app matches each food to measured nutrient data and sizes the amounts to your goals. Soaking, sprouting and fermenting are planned too. Goals and coverage are planning estimates, not medical advice.
